Amber's Back X-Ray-12.14.14

Here is a pic of Amber’s back (front view). Those are stainless steel rods and clamps. Pretty amazing for sure.
Amber will be taken off the ventilator “first thing” tomorrow morning. (Maybe around 8am?) The scope will be done to make sure she can breathe on her own and/or with “the dreadful mask”.
She currently has a fever and looks white. Her fevers come and go. She is sleeping lots today so it is hard to gauge how she is feeling. Her breathing and lungs are good though. She breathes “above the vent” all the time now. She is currently on three antibiotics.
What a journey this has been! I have done a lot of soul-searching and seeking out God. It is in our darkness that we find the light. So much good has come out of this trial. Our family has had to adjust to a great deal and seek out God’s comfort and promises, each in our own way. I think it is safe to say that each one of us has grown from this experience. And most definitely we appreciate Amber more! I know our love for her has grown!
Thank you again for the support. You have no idea the comfort it brings me not only to post on Facebook, but then to read your responses. We don’t want the trach!! That is my greatest fear. But, no matter what happens tomorrow, God is in control and we accept.
When you wake tomorrow, please say a prayer for Amber that:
—the scope shows she is good & strong in the breathing area of her face/throat muscles
—the “dreadful mask” doesn’t even need to be used, but if it is used, Amber embraces the assistance that it gives
—the doctors have wisdom & clear direction in what they are doing
Lastly, in all this searching for God and direction, I came to realize that we need to focus FIRST on Him and not so much Amber. That is what he ultimately wants. This is how it is in life. Don’t focus on the problem, but focus on the problem-solver. Then the rest falls into place.
Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Praying it all “falls into place” tomorrow. Still believing!
