Detours-1.24.15

This detour (what I call a detour) in this journey of life is the pits. I am forever changed by losing Amber. So many questions with no answers. Oh, I thought I was a compassionate caring person, but this grief takes me to a whole new level. I have no doubt God will use me to help others. It’s just hard walking through the fire. The hardest thing I have ever experienced no doubt. The stories and tragedies that others have experienced take on a whole new meaning to me. I listen and I hear.
There is a play called “The Angel That Troubled the Waters” by Thornton Wilder. It is based on John 5:1-4.
In the play a physician goes to the healing pool, but the angel blocks the way and says “Healing is not for you”. The angel goes on to say "Without your wound where would your power be? It is your very remorse that makes your low voice tremble into the hearts of men. The very angels themselves cannot persuade the wretched and blundering children on earth as can one human being broken on the wheels of living. In Love’s service only the wounded soldiers can serve. Draw back.”
Try to use your pain, your troubles, your story, to help others. That is what I am striving to do.
2 Corinthians 1:4
"who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
