Yesterday Amber started crying. Her cries are deep, red-faced and full of tears. Her eyes show how upset she is. There is very little sound and her “episodes” last about ten minutes. We believe it is a result of weaning her off the medications. Our nurse came in today and her lungs sound good. She doesn’t seem to be in any pain. She is just a very emotional girl and it is heartbreaking to see. We are trying to make her as comfortable as possible and have started giving her another medication to help her get through this time. (This medication will not be addictive). She is also shaking quite a bit. Amber did this before the surgery, but now it is a different kind of shaking. We are not sure if this is her new normal or not.
We are not sure what each day is going to bring, but are hopeful Amber will be fine after continuing to heal. She will be seeing at least one doctor this week and will hopefully get her leg casts off. They are such a pain!
Thank you for your continued prayers. She has been through so much and is being so strong. She was smiling every so often until yesterday. We certainly didn’t see this coming!
